MY TOOLS

Creating exceptional 3D printed aquarium accessories demands the right blend of expertise, creativity and the perfect 3d printing tools. Over the years, I’ve refined my workflow to rely on hardware and software that empower precision, innovation and practicality in every design I create with my 3D printers.

3D Printers that Power My Designs

From trusted classics to cutting-edge advancements, my hardware selection ensures consistent results and reliable performance. The 3D printers I use include the Bambu Lab P1S, A1 Mini, A1, Voron 2.4 300, and Prusa MK3S+. Among these, the Bambu Lab P1S stands out as the most reliable and high-quality option for its price, delivering exceptional precision and value. Alongside these, I utilize essential equipment like filament dryers, an air-purifying station and a humidity control system to maintain optimal printing conditions.

Knowledge is Key

But it’s not just about the 3D printers & tools—understanding aquarium wildlife is equally crucial. Every design prioritizes the well-being and safety of fish and other aquatic life. Without proper knowledge and experience, some design elements could unintentionally harm the delicate balance of an aquarium. For example, designing caves or hiding spots for fish requires careful attention to specific dimensions to ensure fish can safely enter without getting stuck, as well as escape routes with minimal obstructions in case they feel threatened. The designs should avoid sharp edges and ideally, include a way to allow for minimal water flow inside to prevent stagnation. Incorporating top-entry openings is also beneficial, as it helps avoid oxygen depletion and keeps fish comfortable. While achieving these results perfectly isn’t always possible, each new design brings me closer to these goals, ensuring both functionality and safety for the aquatic life. This deep understanding allows me to create pieces that are not only visually stunning, but also practical and safe.

Software that Fuels Creativity

To bring ideas to life, I mainly rely on Fusion 360 and Blender software. These two programs form the backbone of my creative process:

The combination of these tools enables me to create everything from simple designs to intricate, organic aquarium caves, ensuring both form and function.
